Join renowned interior designer, Heidi Pribell, as she shares how her discovery of a mantelpiece in a Beacon Hill brownstone apartment building led her on a fascinating journey to uncover its history. Pribell found that the mantelpiece was designed by Thomas Appleton, a member of Thomas Jefferson’s inner circle, whom she argues is America’s first art dealer. As she delves into Appleton’s “American Aesthetic” and her architectural odyssey, Pribell shares how her research impassions her scholarship of fine and decorative art. Cocktail reception to follow.
